Just to reiterate, when you see "Gmj" as part of a Runeword, it means that the Runeword requires you to add either:Īny gem of standard quality or higher Any jewel Caution: Furthermore, in the case of Gems, only standard, flawless and perfect gems may be used - chipped and flawed gems will not suffice. These particular variants of Runewords appear only in 3, 4, 5 or 6 socket Runewords and will only appear on weapons and armors, not charms. There are also Runewords that include Gems and Jewels! You can tell because the last piece of the Runeword will be "Gmj". Some Runewords which give self-repair or ease of use bonuses do not, of course, exist when applied to Charms. For example, a Runeword which would normally give +100 attack in a sword would only give +50 attack when put into a Quad Charm. Because of the nebulous nature of charms, Runeword attributes are roughly half of what they would be in normal base items. There are now Runewords for Charms! The Charm Runewords generally make use of existing Runewords for items. It is not possible to put Runewords into Crafted, Unique or Set items. Runewords only work on Normal, Magic or Rare socketed items. Zy-El has more Runewords (900+) than the vanilla version of the game and they are not limited to wearable gear: charms can hold Runewords, too! Runewords have played an important role in Diablo 2 since the Lord of Destruction expansion.
